Après la très controversée (et confidentielle) Daewoo Evanda, Chevrolet présente un modèle à la fois plus cossu et plus élégant. De plus, deux motorisations 6 cylindres sont disponibles parallèlement à un 2 litres Diesel, histoire de contenter tout le monde. Malgré le modeste succès de ce dernier modèle, Chevrolet persévère sur ce segment avec l’importation de la Malibu « façon US » (avec des feux arrière et un tableau de bord inspirés de la Camaro), dont seul le Diesel 2 litres est disponible en France, mais d’autres pays peuvent recevoir le 2.4 litres essence… pendant que les six cylindres ont disparu.
