La BMW 503, dérivée des éléphantesques 501 / 502, présente la même mécanique sous un aspect plus moderne. La 507, quant à elle, est franchement bien dessinée et offre une tentative intéressante de BMW de renouer avec sa légende d’avant-guerre. Cette série trouvera son épilogue avec l’élégante 3200 CS qui, grâce au coup de crayon de Giugiaro, inspirera les coupés BMW sur plusieurs générations.
